Would you like to work in a happy, supportive and successful school community?

If so, we would like to hear from you!

Lord Deramore’s Primary is a one-form entry school, situated next to the University of York in the village of Heslington. It is the most diverse school in the City of York, with a third of its children registered with English as an Additional Language and over thirty nationalities represented within its community. Founded in 1795, it is oversubscribed and has a long-standing reputation for providing children with a creative, diverse and inclusive education.

We are in a position to offer an experienced Teaching Assistant (Level 2) the opportunity to join our support staff team on a permanent basis.

The post will be for 23 hours per week, with working pattern to be negotiated upon appointment but ideally being 8.45am-12.00pm each morning and 1-3.15pm three afternoons a week. Optional lunchtime supervisory hours could also be available.

In the first instance, the post-holder will work in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6), supporting teaching and learning on a morning. This would be alongside supporting the Inclusion Leader three afternoons a week to deliver Special Educational Needs, Emotional Literacy and/or English as an Additional Language support.
