Job Vacancies

Vacancies at Lord Deramore’s Primary School are advertised on the City of York web site.

Class Teacher (Key Stage 2)

Lord Deramore’s Primary School is seeking to recruit a Class Teacher (Key Stage 2).

Lord Deramore’s is a successful one-form entry LA maintained school, situated next to the University of York. Founded in 1795, it is oversubscribed and has a long-standing reputation for providing children with a creative, diverse and inclusive education.

Following the retirement and relocation of two valued colleagues, a rare opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a permanent Class Teacher to join our happy, supportive and friendly school community from January 2021.

The post is advertised within the Main and Upper Pay Range scales and applications are therefore welcome from newly-qualified and recently-qualified, alongside more experienced teachers. The successful candidate will initially work with our Year 3 class and may be responsible for coordinating a curriculum area. Curriculum expertise and interests should be clearly outlined in supporting statements. The school will be fully committed to providing professional development opportunities to the successful candidate, potentially including middle and senior leadership development.

If you have any questions about the role, please do not hesitate to email Mr James Rourke (Headteacher) via lordderamores.primary@york.gov.uk

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, visits to the school will not be possible but we would encourage applicants to view our school website and social media accounts to learn more about our unique character and values.

Application Form

Please submit completed forms by post or electronically to lordderamores.primary@york.gov.uk by Sunday 6th September 12 midnight.

Safeguarding & DBS

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We require any successful applicants to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All advertised posts are subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 and as such shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Disqualification Declaration. Any information supplied will be discussed at interview.

All successful applicants should be fully committed to supporting our school’s ethos and values regarding keeping children safe in education.
