Maths Skills in Early Years

In Early Years we have fun when we practise our Maths skills.

We count the spots on the dice.

We use our counting skills to play board games.

Sometimes we use 2 dice and have to add the numbers together.

We make our own games up too, like counting the pictures on the game board and finding the correct number on the dice to match.

We can add two towers of cubes up.

12 + 3 =15.

We even do maths outside.  These children have made up a throwing and catching game.

There was lots of maths involved – sorting the children into 2 teams, scoring points when they

caught a ball and writing the scores on the chalk board.
