Potato Planting

Earlier this year Early Years planted seed potatoes with

Mrs Greenway and Mrs Parker.

Today we went to harvest our crop.

We took turns to dig up the plants and search through the soil for the potatoes.

We found lots of potatoes had grown.

We each took a bag of potatoes home from our plant - we could have them for tea -

shall we mash or boil them? We even dug up a bag for Mr Danby as a thank you for making our planters.

While we were outside we drew a careful picture of our potato plant and then made a

life cycle drawing showing how the plants had grown from seeds.

Before we went in we put our plants in the compost bin so that they would rot down

and be used to help other plants grow.

Thank you Mrs Parker and Mrs Greenway!
