Snowball Plantation
Years 3 and 4 had a great day being explorers at Snowball Plantation!

We used compasses to plan a route for others to follow and

realised how tricky it must have been for those early explorers.

We made journey sticks to record our journeys,

like some Native Americans used to.

Our scavenger hunt was fun - as well as collecting things we had a go at

hugging trees, climbing trees and lying on our backs to look at the sky.

Using potato peelers, we whittled sticks to make a skewer.
We used these to toast marshmallows on our camp fire.
After lunch we made a shelter for the explorers, practising our rope tying skills.
Some of the shelters were so good we could have stayed the night!
We had a great day!
