Trip on the Wheel

As part of their topic ‘Above and Below’,

Early Years went to the Yorkshire Wheel.

It was very exciting as it was their first ever school trip.

We waited patiently to get into our pods and then looked out over York as we went up and around.

We saw the station, the Minster and the flooded river.

Looking down was very strange as things

look small and very different from above.

Back at school we built models, painted pictures and drew pictures of the wheel.

We also investigated cogs to see how small

wheels help the big wheel turn around.

In our Forest School we made wheels using stones and sticks and painted pictures of the wheel using paints that we mixed ourselves.

We all agreed that our trip was brilliant!
