There were lots of fantastic and imaginative costumes in school for World Book Day.

We start in Early Years with Big Funny Bones - Funny Bones

(Janet & Allen Ahlberg), Six Dinner Sid (Inga Moore),

Stick Man (Julia Donaldson) . . .

But who is this?


Paddington Bear (Michael Bond) and

The Lowly Worm (Richard Scarry) in Italian!


In Year 1 there was a Scientist from the Non-Fiction book

'Human Body', Minnie the Minx - a Beano character created

by Leo Baxendale, Amy the Amethyst Fairy (Daisy Meadows)


. . . and an Umpa Lumpa from

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (Roald Dahl).


Who is trying to hide?


Characters in Year 2 included The BFG (Roald Dahl),

Grandpa, from Grandpa's Great Escape ( David Walliams),

Dennis the Menace from his Diary (Steven Butler) . . .


Privet Drive, the home of Harry Potter (J K Rowling),

Sauce Pan Man from The Magic Faraway Tree (Enid Blyton)

and a Shark that had escaped from one of our

Non-Fiction reading books!



There was also a very brave St George and his Dragon.



Who can this be in Year 2?


Mr Gum (Andy Stanton), The Boy in the Dress & Raj

from books by David Walliams as well as a Farmer from

The Fantastic Mr Fox (Roald Dahl) could be found in Year 3


. . . being taught today by Gangster Granny

(David Walliams).

Is that Wally I can see?


You could find Frodo Baggins (JRR Tolkein),

Tin Tin from the series by Herge, and Sepple from a

Traditional German Story by Otfried Preussler . . .

as well as two Things in Year 4 (Dr Seuss).

Roald Dahl characters in Year 5 included The BFG,

Sophie and Mike TV from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

as well as Miss Trunchbowl from Matilda.

Is that Wally again?


They were joined by Roderick from The Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Jeff Kinney), Ivy & Olivia, from My Sister the Vampire

(Sienna Mercer) and The Naughtiest Girl in School

(Enid Blyton).


Finally, in Year 6, Tiffany Aching from The Wee Free Men

(Terry Pratchett) Banquo from Macbeth (William Shakespeare), two Wonderland Alices (Lewis Carrol). . .


and some very sinister looks by several witches from

The School For Good and Evil (Soman Chainani).

Don't hide in there!


Let's hope The Highway Rat (Julia Donaldson)

can control those witches in school today!
