Job Details

Lord Deramore’s Primary School is seeking a friendly, organised and hardworking part-time school office administrator to join our school community.  The role will involve running our school office for three days per week (ideally Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) in a job-share role with the other Admin Officer who currently works Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Main tasks will include:

  • Providing friendly, welcoming customer service to families, colleagues and visitors
  • Answering the school telephone and taking messages
  • Managing the school email account, sending out communications and responding to enquiries
  • Inputting attendance information and working out school dinner numbers
  • Facilitating the organisation of school visits, extra-curricular clubs and visitors
  • Managing parental payments
  • Processing school invoice payments in partnership with our School Business Manager
  • Managing pupil and staff records
  • Completing further administrative tasks such as letter writing and notetaking

Working days would ideally be Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (subject to negotiation with successful candidate) – 8.30am-4.30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch. School term-time only plus 3 weeks (9 days) to be worked during the school holidays at a mutually-convenient time.

Lord Deramore’s Primary School is looking for a cleaner to join the school’s in-house cleaning team for 15 hours per week.

We are looking for someone who will take pride in their work and be willing to work as part of a team to make sure our school is cleaned to the highest standards.

In return we are offering full training to do the job, £10.90 per hour, working term-time only, and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme if you wish.

There will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to discuss working certain weeks in the school holidays if desired.

An extremely rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced part-time teacher to join the Lord Deramore’s Primary School staff team. We are seeking to recruit a 0.5FTE Class Teacher and Subject Coordinator for September 2023 on a permanent contract. This post is unfortunately not suitable for Early Career Teachers.

Lord Deramore’s is a successful one-form entry LA maintained school, situated next to the University of York. Founded in 1795, it is oversubscribed and has a long-standing reputation for providing children with a creative, diverse and inclusive education. It is a happy and supportive school with very high levels of staff morale.

The successful candidate will be initially based in a Key Stage 2 class, job-sharing with one of our established and experienced teachers who is returning from maternity leave. The working pattern for this vacancy is Thursdays and Fridays plus alternate Wednesdays.

Lord Deramore’s Primary School is looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistant to help make our children’s lunch hour happy and safe for all.

Main duties include:

  • Supervising children to ensure they keep safe
  • Assisting younger children in eating their lunches
  • Keeping the lunch hall calm, tidy and organised
  • Ensuring a happy playtime for all

The ideal candidate needs to have:
