World Book Day 2019

This year there were lots of fun activities in school for World Book Day.

Each class made bunting, depicting their favorite books, as well as decorating their classroom door.

Many of us also made a ‘Book in a Jar or Box’.

Can you guess some of the books?

As usual, there were amazing costumes worn by everyone.

We ended the day with a special

‘Book Factor’ Assembly.

This year victory went to Beowulf.

Who was your favorite character?

 Well done everyone!

World Book Day 2018

Our World Book Day characters had to battle snow storms to be with us this year! We had a fun day, celebrating our love of reading and books.

After school the PTA organised a book sale and  refreshments.

Take a look below at some of the amazing and inventive costumes created by staff and children.

How many characters do you recognise?

Mr Toad was determined to triumph at his first Book Factor Assembly with us and wrote eloquent verse to win over the audience.

The other characters did not look very pleased when Mrs Gulliver, as Macavity the Mystery Cat, claimed victory for the THIRD year in a row!

Well done to everyone!

World Book Day 2017

What an exciting day we  had at Lord Deramore’s celebrating World Book Day and our love of reading! There were lots of amazing costumes. You could see The Mad Hatter, Fantastic Mr Fox, Captain Haddock and Alfie, the Doorstep Cat, as well as many more. See how many characters you can recognise. There were so many inventive outfits but eventually the school council were able to select a winner from each class. We also had an extremely entertaining Book Factor Assembly. Congratulations to Mrs Gulliver, as The Disgusting Sandwich, on her victory!
